Who this policy covers
This policy covers the SKYNARIUM VR astronomy application and its website. The developer and person responsible for the application’s data processing is Evgenii Piratinskii. Contact: piratisrael@gmail.com.
SKYNARIUM does not operate its own backend server or cloud user database. The astronomy simulation and saved observing preferences run locally. Optional online features connect directly to the third-party services described below.
SKYNARIUM does not require a separately registered SKYNARIUM account. Online rooms use an automatically generated Unity Authentication identity when you choose to host or join a room.
Data and purposes
| Information | How and why it is processed |
|---|---|
| VR movement and interactions | Headset, controller and supported hand poses are processed to render the view, operate virtual objects and animate avatars. In an online room, avatar poses and interaction state are transmitted to other participants through Unity Relay. |
| Observing preferences | The location you select, display settings and audio preferences are stored on your device. Observing time, location and shared sky settings are also exchanged with participants in an online room. A selected observing location is a simulation setting; the application does not request GPS location. |
| Online service information | Unity Authentication, Relay and Vivox process service identifiers, session information and technical connection information, including IP addresses, to authenticate the service identity, connect rooms, deliver voice and maintain their services. |
| Microphone audio | When you join voice chat and grant microphone permission, audio is transmitted through Vivox to room participants. The application does not implement local voice recording. Other participants can hear what you say while your microphone is active. |
| Satellite-data requests | The application periodically requests public orbital data from CelesTrak. The provider receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. The request does not include your selected observing location or VR poses. |
| Support messages | If you contact the developer, your email address and the information you choose to provide are used to answer your request, troubleshoot problems or handle privacy requests. |
Unity’s runtime and service infrastructure may also process technical diagnostics under its privacy policy. SKYNARIUM does not use an advertising SDK or access an advertising identifier for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can use the local observing experience without joining an online room. Joining a room activates the online service connection. You can leave the room, mute your microphone or revoke microphone permission in headset settings. Denying microphone access can prevent voice chat; it does not prevent the local astronomy experience.
Online rooms process a service identity even when you have not entered a real name or email address. An “anonymous” sign-in is a service identifier, not a promise that no personal data is processed.
Storage, retention and security
Local application data and third-party service records are different. Locally saved settings are not uploaded to a SKYNARIUM server. Selected sky settings are shared only with an online room when you join one.
Local preferences and satellite caches remain on your device until cleared or removed. Live poses and shared simulation state are used during the room session; the application does not implement a persistent history of those movements or voice recordings. Unity service identities and provider operational records may remain after a session ends under the providers’ retention practices.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. We delete data that is no longer needed and coordinate deletion with service providers when required. We do not promise that uninstalling the app deletes remote service records.
Network services use encrypted transport where supported by their SDKs. Access to support correspondence and service administration is restricted to those who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their applicable privacy policies and contractual safeguards describe their international processing arrangements.
Request deletion or correction
For privacy questions, correction or deletion requests, email:
piratisrael@gmail.com
Suggested subject: SKYNARIUM data deletion request.
This request path is available to all users, regardless of where they live. Describe the data you want deleted and, if known, when you used the online services. Do not send passwords, access tokens or identity documents. We may ask for the minimum additional information needed to identify the relevant record and verify the request. Keep the app installed until we explain how to identify an anonymous service account, if needed.
We will delete applicable data we control and request deletion from providers acting on our behalf without undue delay, subject to necessary legal retention. If we cannot locate a record or do not hold the requested data, we will explain this. We respond within the deadlines required by applicable law.
For local data, clear the application’s storage in headset settings where available, or uninstall the app. Platform backups can affect what is restored on reinstallation. Remote Unity records require a separate deletion request; deleting local storage alone is not sufficient. Requests about Meta account data should be made through Meta’s account and privacy controls.
Privacy rights and children
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information, obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact the developer to exercise these rights.
Where a legal basis is required, processing necessary to provide a feature you request relies on performance of that service, operational security and support may rely on legitimate interests, and legally required processing relies on legal obligations. Consent is used where required for optional processing; you may withdraw it.
Users must follow the platform’s applicable age requirements and parental controls. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information that should not have been processed, contact us so we can investigate and arrange deletion where appropriate.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when data practices change. The last-updated date appears at the top of the page. Material changes requiring notice or consent will be handled as required by applicable law.
